The John Deere 790 Compact Tractor
Versatility at a competitive price makes the John Deere 790 Compact Utility Tractor good value for people who have tight budgets but a wide variety of projects – from mowing to working with a loader.

Although it competes in the economy segment of its horsepower class, the 790’s state-of-the-art engine has 30 gross engine hp and 25 PTO hp. A large bore-and-stroke design delivers a high torque rise to power ground-engaging implements without strain. The diesel engine features direct fuel injection for quick starts and improved fuel economy. For ease of operation, the auto-bleed fuel system makes it possible to restart the engine even when it has run completely out of fuel. Simply refill the fuel tank and start the engine with no time or effort needed for priming.

The 790 is available in a 4WD version only. Power steering and a dual-stage dry clutch is standard on the 4WD. This dual-stage clutch is used to provide continuous live PTO.

For both models a selectable system for rear- and mid-PTOs gives operators the option of using either PTO or both simultaneously. A sliding gear transmission provides eight forward and two reverse speeds.

An operator presence system makes sure that the operator is safely seated before the PTO can be engaged. A triple-safety starting system requires the transmission to be in neutral with implements disengaged before the operator can start the engine with a key.

One of the world's oldest and most respected enterprises, John Deere creates smart and innovative solutions, in the form of advanced machines, services and concepts, for customers on the farmsite, worksite, and homesite worldwide.
